Rams

North Country Cheviot Rams
Stay tuned for a couple of new boys coming summer of 2023

Coneygeers Gac 5D - "LAD"
[CAN]722601
Cass 21W x Coneygeers Gabriella 9W
North Country Cheviot
March 06, 2016

We have purchased Lad from the Canada All Sheep Classic in Red Deer, AB in 2017. He is bringing in all new bloodlines into our flock.
Lad was one of the top rams we thought at the show, he shows a great confirmation and discipline. He has a straight top line with great bone structure throughout his body.
With him joining our ram power, we have seen a great improvement on top of our breeding program already. His first group of lambs in 2018, were what we were hoping for and more, he throws the docile discipline alone with a great confirmation on top. We are excited to watch these lambs grow and continue to show them off.

You will notice that all of our BFL rams have 3 sets of registration numbers.  This is why.   To have registered BFL's here in Canada with Canadian papers the animals must also be registered in Great Britain.  This is due to Canada following the Great Britian breed standards.  So when we got our first BFL's, Kelly did a lot of research on pedigrees (being a pedigree junky, this was an easy task).  We then headed to Scotland to meet with the Blueface Leicester Sheep Breeders Association with all of our findings on the pedigrees.  We went through each of the animals pedigrees with the Helen and come up with a list of the ones that we could register with the GBR registry.  When we received The Blueface Leicester Sheep Breeders Association Registration Certificate we then sent these certificates into CLRC to get the Canadian papers.  With out the Canadian papers anyone wanting to show the BFL here in Canada can not.  At the time of purchase of all our BFL's we had only received the BLU papers with them.  This is the American registry, we have kept this registry on all of our animals so if they have a black fleeced baby we can still get a set of papers on them so you can still follow their family tree as it is still a registration.

Was decided that Smutty will stay with us as one of our breeding rams. This boy is Canadian registered and is pretty eye appealing. Kelly was pretty ecstatic when Jason allowed her to keep this boy. He is a son of Quin so will be keeping his genetics around for a few more years
